Yoga and adjustment for a pain free life

Caroline Martinez-ZuberYoga has been the constant in my  life. A native of Switzerland, I spent most of my young adult life traveling the world before settling in New York in 2002 .  In 2004, I completed my Yoga Teacher Training at ISHTA Yoga http://ishtayoga.com/ (then “BeYoga) with the renowned Meditation teacher Alan Finger and his team of teachers.

I bring a unique style to the mat, with a focus on alignment and intelligent sequencing. The pace of my class is deliberately slow to allow you the time to fully explore the pose, gain strength and precision. I know how to challenge you in a safe way. You’ll leave your session/class with a sense of balance and ease.

Over years of teaching, both in group settings and privately, I noticed more and more students coming in with physical pain. To be able to better understand and address my clients’ musculoskeletal issues, I have taken additional training with Dr. Ray Long, an Orthopedic Surgeon and a Yogi and I am certified in Integrated Positional Technique by Lee Albert http://www.leealbert.com/

For me, yoga is more than “just” a physical practice, it is a method of being.  Whether teaching yoga, meditation or Integrated Positional Technique, I seek to help clients find more ease in body and mind.

Integrated Positional Technique (IPT) can effectively address both chronic and acute pain. Unlike traditional treatment methods that focus primarily on treating the symptoms of pain, IPT focuses on eliminating pain at its source, giving you lasting relief.
I am trained to identify the biomechanical misalignments at the root of your pain and develop a program to bring you back into balance. By helping the body rediscover it’s innate alignment, you can live and move with more ease. IPT looks at the body as a whole, with an understanding how muscle groups work and communicate with one another. The movements are gentle and simple enough that you can continue the work outside of our sessions.

Some conditions IPT can address:

  • Headache
  • Neck pain
  • Temporomandibular joint disorder/TMJD
  • Thoracic outlet syndrome
  • Shoulder pain/rotator cuff
  • Lower back and general back pain
  • Tennis elbow
  • Wrist pain/carpal tunnel
  • Piriformis syndrome
  • Sciatica
  • Knee pain
  • Plantar fascitis

Feel free to "/"contact Caroline Martinez-Zuber for questions and pricing or schedule a session.

Sessions last approximately 90 min and are held at  YogaAdjust studio.

You’ve heard yoga is good for you, but don’t know where to start?  Is jumping into a group class a bit intimidating?  Or maybe you already have a yoga practice, but want individualized guidance to develop your practice, or address an injury?  If this sounds familiar, a private session might be your answer!

During a private session, I tailor the instruction to meet your needs and goals.  Whether you are a beginner or experienced practitioner, individualized instruction provides you the time and space to learn proper alignment, a foundation for any long term, beneficial practice.

Sessions are arranged to fit your schedule, either in your home or at YogaAlign studio in Mamaroneck, NY.  Private sessions can be ongoing, or you can book just a few to explore a specific pose.  We can talk and figure out what is right for you.

Feel free to "/"contact Caroline Martinez-Zuber to learn more.

"Practice Meditation. You’ll find that you are carrying within your heart a portable paradise”
Paramahansa Yogananda

Meditation is making headlines for the long list of potential benefits, but establishing a consistent practice can be daunting for a variety of reasons.  In fact, many of the exact reasons you could benefit from meditation, can be stumbling blocks to getting started!  Are you thinking to yourself, “I have way too much racing through my mind to sit still with a clear head for 20 minutes!”?

Just like any other skill, meditation takes practice. Caroline will make meditation accessible to you, so you too can reap the benefits, such as, reduced anxiety, increased focus and better communication (just to name a few!).  Caroline is trained in Tantra meditation by Alan Finger. This type of meditation uses a combination of breath work, visualization and mantra.

Initial sessions are 60 minutes and can be at YogaAlign studio in Mamaroneck or in your home/office.
